Soldiers Camps
A confederate soldiers camp wasn’t all that great there tent consisted of a small piece of canvas propped up by guns or found wood. Later you would have found lots of union tents and things in a soldier’s camp. Soldiers would often have to eat maggoty food or have to scavenge for food.

Soldiers Weaponry
Most confederate soldiers had the standard flint lock rifle called the Confederate Springfield. Later in the war they would have Enfield rifles from dead union soldiers. In this war there was rifling in the barrels of the rifles. There was more rifled rifles in the north then in the south because the north had more factories.
Soldiers Clothing
Soldiers really didn't have that good of uniforms. The uniforms thy had were often too small and had bullet holes in them because they were from dead soldiers. If they had shoes thy would nail horseshoes to the bottom so that they would wear out slower.
Confederate Conscription
In the civil war at first the north and the south asked for volunteer armies to fight, but later in the war they had to start conscripting people into the army. People say that they should have just started by conscripting people because volunteers only had to serve for three months. Later this led to a lot of people being reluctant to serve for a longer term.
